Tutors will arrive on time to check in for their shifts. If they will be late or absent, they will provide advanced notice to both the school and HeyTutor.
Tutors will be dressed in appropriate business casual clothing and maintain business casual grooming. They will not wear clothing with holes, tears, or wording. If tutors have tattoos, they should be covered.
Tutors will track their lessons and student attendance.
Tutors will be trained on best practices for virtual or in-person tutoring, SEL skills and strategies, and a breakdown of how to use and access HeyTutor’s assessments and lessons. We strive to provide you with tutors that have experience working with children, a passion for education, and a willingness to learn and adapt to anything you may need from them throughout their time on campus.
It’s important to remember that your tutors do not know your students and/or the processes of their assigned school site. Please plan to take time throughout the first week to provide them more detailed information about their day-to-day schedule and roles; i.e., if they are pushing into classrooms, allow them to familiarize themselves with the teacher, students, and curriculum used. If they are working with students 1:1 and in small groups, provide clear instructions on where to report and which students they will be working with.
